Primola is a burst of sunshine in your summer!
Sunshine you can indulge in - in a culinary way of course!
We love the old school style, the timeless old-world elegance and of course the American flag at Primola.  In a world that is constantly changing it is becoming increasingly precious to find places like this still exist due to the entrepreneurship of the great Giuliano Zuliani.  He pitches in and works along his staff all the time and the Primola experience is entirely a team effort.

Primola is pristine and it is beautiful.
We have been chronicling the excellence of Primola for a decade because they have earned it.  With this knowledge and experience, we know their specials are among the best in Manhattan and we are always interested in hearing them.  The gazpacho is fragrant and ripe without being cutting and overpowering.  We were immensely impressed by its delicacy as it achieved such a lovely balance of flavors.  It's the essence of summer.
You know Peachy has a special relationship with Burrata and there is even a Burrata Peachy column because we love it that much.  The Burrata special is another one to jump on at Primola: it arrives in stylish creamy perfection with roasted red peppers and asparagus!  You're going to love it.
Salads are an essential component to all dinner experiences, and at Primola The Insalata Speciale Primola is a study in a well-chopped salad.  Green beans (our favorite), tomato, chopped greens, asparagus, green peppers and onion all dance together in a nutritious amalgamation that will delight your summer senses.  If you are a garlic enthusiast like Peachy, say yes please to the garlic on the ideally sauteed spinach side, another delicious, healthy component.  It is not easy to find healthy so delicious but it is at Primola!
Sometimes at lesser venues, chicken can be boring.
NEVER at Primola.
A fantastic entree for summer on the regular menu is Paillard di Pollo con Verdure Di Stagoni: Chicken with grilled vegetables in season.  It is exactly as vibrant and brilliant in real life as you see in the picture.  We never edit pictures.  Ever.  You excel like Giuliano or we do not publish.  Fresh and fragrant, the chicken was perfectly pounded and stepped out with asparagus, roasted peppers, zucchini, onion and endive.  Fabulous!   Also pretty healthy we would say.
If you are up to something a little bit naughtier on the healthiness scale absolutely indulge in the absolutely amazing Chicken Parmesean special.  It is also the ideal thinness that we are looking for in such a chicken creation and is gorgeously embellished with bespoke marinara and the perfect amount of mozzarella.  It was our second favorite dish of this review after the lobster linguini.
Another special commanding your attention is the Halibut Oreganata!  Gorgeously grilled to a super sear, this fish is fantastically fresh and uber-popular as we saw others around us ordering it too.  Even in the slower season of summer you ought to know even though some people go away on the weekends, Primola is totally hopping.  The tomato and spinach accents set it off both aesthetically and from a culinary aspect.  The pasta dishes are sublime at Primola and for summer, may we suggest the Fedelini Primavera: classic quality pasta with a fresh array of vegetables, perfect for bathing suit season!

The Lobster Linguini is one of our most favorite dishes in the history of eating at Primola and it is a special right now.  
The creation is a total work of art requiring great skill to cut the lobster as they did: from the claws to the tail, it was easy to get out of the shell which they earn extra points for.  And of course they give you a little fish fork that is made for such a desirable task!  When we see lobster ravioli on a menu and it is just pasta filled, it cannot compare to this chef d'oeuvre which sets Primola apart from its potentially prosaic competition.  Even though it has been going since 1986, Primola proves that it is constantly reinventing excellence to stay at the forefront of dining today.  Delicious. Stunning.  Epitome of Excellence!
Primola continues to earn our Highest Recommendation.
