#InauguralReview Introducing #SteakFrites by #Owners #ExecutiveChef #AdamSchop and #StephaneBibeau #HellsKitchen
OF COURSE YOU NEED THE STEAK FRITES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ooooh la la Mademoiselle Peachy has found a new hot French spot! Introducing Steak Frites, the best thing to happen to Hell's Kitchen since Joey Mullen! (Awesome Boston College Eagle) Open since December 1, 2022, Steak Frites is led by owners Executive Chef Adam Schop and Stephane Bibeau and is located at 496 9th Avenue in Manhattan. So far based on this one and only experience, we'd say it is the best new restaurant close to the Javits center, take note trade show attendees of the world.
Any restaurant we write on has got to have a great wine list and cordial service. Though he was humble and didn't say his name, the host here was among the most polite and classy we've encountered in 2023 so far. We check out many, many places before ever going, nevermind writing about. It is a lot harder to get featured for the first time in 2023 than it was in 2009 on Whom You Know. We sipped on a quality Bordeaux; the atmosphere is authentic and comfortable. It's not a big place so we would encourage you to think ahead.
If for some silly reason the other 27,000 posts haven't appealed to you yet and this is your first time reading us, you should know we do not edit pictures. We publish the truth. The truth is it is still winter and you need their Onion Soup Gratinee in your life. It has a depth of flavor that is a winner from obviously the onions to the gruyere and it hits the spot. Escargots De Bourgogne are entirely unique as they swim freestyle in front of you; we have never seen them outside of their normally circled compartments at every other spot we've eaten them at. The Burgundy snails defy the slow reputation of their movement when they meet your fork, and bien sur mes amis they give you the right fork here, which undoubtedly deftly dives in to the classic French fare. The parsley-garlic butter is outstanding as are the croutons and the flavor was so extraordinary, Peachy's plate looked like it went through the dishwasher at the end. Save your bread for this.
The menu is not extensive, and there are two salads on it. We tried both, and Ms. Pretty Picky asked for the dressing on the side and they were happy to comply. Above, meet the Salade Verte, which is quite straightforward and solid. Butter lettuce, Haricots verts which we tremendously applaud because green beans are Peachy's favorite vegetable, and radishes (we believe watermelon) team up with red wine vinaigrette. All produce we encountered was fresh and spectacular which is not easy in the dead of winter. Below, meet the Salade Lyonnaise, a more extensive and complicated salad: Frisee lettuce, poached egg, fingerling potato crisp and the most amazing bacon lardons you can get your hands on now in New York! Imagine if they did bacon egg and cheese for breakfast. Sherry Vinaigrette tops this off or in our case, sails in in its own boat.
We have eaten a lot of fish and from some of the best venues; the Salmon Bearnaise is extraordinary in flavor and for someone as devoted to Bearnaise sauce as Peachy is, she doesn't recall ever seeing it on Salmon before and it is simply smashing!!! Pan roasted organic salmon is a total party on a plate luxuriating in that beautiful BERNAISE and drumroll please, BACON LARDONS!!! Brilliant move by Chef Adam, and also it comes with Brussels Sprouts which are in a separate dish and equally laudable.
Not only is Steak Frites delicious but also it is nutritious. Many restaurants can do a number on your health but if you are smart you can eat right and please your palate. We try to help! Bathing suit season is coming and stay tuned for more MIRACLES...you know we are talking about new hot numbers from Mover and Shaker Sandra D. From the Spinach with Garlic above which does come with a lemon accent to the preferred Haricots Verts below, the Accompagnements are absolutely not to be ignored. We like how everything is in French in the menu and as far as we are concerned, French is the second language to English period!
We don't need to tell you that the piece de resistance here is the Steak Frites, and this is what you should be eating. The 9 oz Hanger Steak was properly medium rare as ordered, and this bright light in Hell's Kitchen flamed it the right way! Pommes frites which is french fries to the uninitiated were spectacular and this is coming from someone that not only is Irish genetically but has been a resident of Ireland. Say yes please to Steak Frites s'il vous plait tout de suite!
We look forward to seeing them keep up the great work and would like to see them on Twitter as well.
