Mary Kay Ash Foundation℠, a philanthropic leader with a mission to end domestic violence, continued its sponsorship of the 18th annual Conference on Crimes Against Women (CCAW) which took place in Dallas, Texas from May 22-25. The annual convening is the largest of its kind – attracting more than 25,000 domestic and global attendees since inception - and the only national conference that addresses crimes against women from a multi-disciplinary, multi-sectoral collaborative approach. Serving as a national clearinghouse for training on the identification, investigation, and prosecution of all types of violent crimes against women, it encourages a coordinated community response from cross-sectoral frontline responders.

“It is unacceptable that one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime in the U.S.,” said Ryan Rogers, Chief Executive Officer for Mary Kay Inc., and Vice President of the Mary Kay Ash Foundation Board of Directors. “For seventeen years, we have been a proud partner of the Conference on Crimes Against Women. We applaud and admire the life-saving work of the many entities represented each year at CCAW who tirelessly work to end violent crimes against women. Today, more than ever, we remain united by our common goal to eliminate domestic violence and ensure women are safe in their communities.”
“The Mary Kay Ash Foundation has been a committed sponsor of the Conference on Crimes Against Women since 2006,” said Jan Langbein, Chief Executive Officer of CCAW and Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support. “With the support from the Foundation, the Conference is able to continue to deliver year after year best-in-class training on the identification, investigation and prosecution of all types of violent crimes against women and ensure those working on the frontlines have the necessary tools to take with them and implement in their own communities. By doing so, we can improve and strengthen our prevention and response efforts to violent crimes against women.”
For 17 years, the Mary Kay Ash Foundation has been a proud partner of CCAW. To help break the cycle of abuse, the Foundation has awarded more than $56 million to domestic violence shelters, programs, and services. Since 2000, more than 2,700 organizations across all 50 states have received over $56 million in grants to provide domestic violence response services to women and their children through the Foundation’s annual grant program.
In North Texas, the Mary Kay Ash Foundation supports four local domestic violence shelters and longtime partners - Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support, The Family Place, Hope’s Door New Beginning, and Denton County Friends of the Family - to provide vital services to survivors through annual grants of $25,000. These funds provide continued support towards general operating costs, transitional housing, outreach counseling facilities, as well as therapeutic services, legal representation, and other services.
