#MovietimeInManhattan #Honour Starring #KeeleyHawes #HighlyRecommended by #PeachyDeegan @ManhattanPeachy #Britbox @BritBox_US #BBC #America

Whom You Know kicked off our recent coverage of Britbox with Stonehouse, also starring Keeley Hawes and we wanted to see what else they had up their sleeve in tandem, so we took a look at Honour. It's ironically named because what some people consider honor is absolutely despicable, but you only need to consider the source. This movie Honour (you know we can spell but they spell it differently in the UK!) examines the horrendous treatment of women by not only their culture but also their families-the worst father ever is in this story.

Keeley Hawes demonstrates her versatility as an actor as she does investigative work in her outstanding performance as DCI Caroline Goode.  She takes a look at a murder of a young woman by small-minded men who observe every last minute detail of a woman's life to vilify her and report it to the men in her family who seem to own her life in every way which should send shivers down your spine. We're particularly opposed to the lack of freedom in fashion and dress and we also liked the actor who played the victim's sister who played an amazing role as well. This all comes down to control and ultimately justice.

Honour is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

Keeley Hawes (Upstairs Downstairs, Bodyguard) stars as DCI Caroline Goode in Honour, thetragic true story of Banaz Mahmod, a London woman killed by her family because of a relationship they considered shameful. When DCI Goode (Hawes) discovered that Banaz had been to the police five times to report threats to her life from members of her own family, she was appalled that her colleagues had missed multiple chances to prevent this so-called "honour" killing. Written by Gwyneth Hughes (Vanity Fair) and directed by Richard Laxton (Mum, Mrs. Wilson), the show brings to light a difficult subject and details a detective’s unwavering quest to pursue justice.
