#SMALLSCREENSCENES #NEWYORKNOTES #WHOMWEMISS #PEACHYDEEGAN @MANHATTANPEACHY HIGHLY RECOMMENDS BRITBOX ORIGINAL DOCUMENTARY SPECIAL LENNON’S LAST WEEKEND #Britbox @BritBox_US #BBC #America

So, we were particularly interested in seeing this original documentary new to us on Britbox taking a look at the life of his dad, particularly because it was about his last days in New York.  Watch the trailer here for Lennon's Last Days.

New York History matters and we were interested in the days before we got here.  If you live here today, this documentary is eye-opening and educational and worth a look.  If you are a Beatles fan it is even more obvious why you should watch this.  Earlier this year we featured Paul McCartney's Red Rose Speedway 50th Anniversary, and also recently James Sommerville told us about how his uncle was the Beatles's Press Officer.  Had he lived longer, certainly we would be writing about John Lennon today.

This most certainly is deserving of your attention and we are pleased to Highly Recommend Lennon's Last Weekend.

The documentary centers on John Lennon’s final weekend with

in person interviews for BBC Radio recorded the day before the music legend was murdered and new contributing interviews

BritBox, the streaming service from BBC Studios and ITV offering the largest collection of British television in North America, has acquired the original documentary special Lennon’s Last Weekend. Premiering in December in recognition of the 40th anniversary of John Lennon’s tragic assassination, the documentary reveals the last in person interview the British icon ever gave before his assassination for the BBC.

Produced by MGMM Studios for Sky Arts UK and distributed internationally by Abacus Media Rights, Lennon’s Last Weekend features the BBC Radio interview Lennon gave in person in December of 1980, the day before being murdered. With a new album to promote, Double Fantasy with Yoko Ono, Lennon sat down and spoke candidly to Radio One D.J. Andy Peebles of the BBC about everything from The Beatles break-up, working with fellow music legends, producing solo albums and life in New York.

The acquisition of Lennon’s Last Weekend will be an addition to BritBox’s already impressive collection of documentaries honoring British culture and legends. Popular documentaries on the service include installments of Michael Apted’s groundbreaking Up series, an exploration of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot in David Suchet on the Orient Express and inside looks at The Royal Family with Celebrating Her Majesty and Cameraman to the Queen.
