Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and Yes You Can Actually Find Excellent King Crab Legs Now in Manhattan!  The Best We Have Had Anywhere in 2023!
It's never been who you know.  It's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know Dennis Turcinovic of Delmonico's fame and you know that is the oldest restaurant in the USA and we are super excited for its reopening and hope to be among the first to review it.  WE ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT.
We are extremely interested in non-one-tricky ponies, generally speaking, and Sei Less is another restaurant Dennis owns and that is how we became aware of it.  It opened in January 2022 and is owned by the stellar team of Dennis Turcinovic, Dara Mirjahangiry, Ivi Shano, Joe Licul and George Karavias.
We were delighted to meet and work with Dara on our first trip there.
Sei Less specializes in Beijing style Chinese food with added fusion.  Obviously we are massively into the English language and the absolute perfect execution of it and name origins, so we asked where the name comes from.  For more on that see the Urban Dictionary.  The idea is say less and do more in this immersive cultural experience and their clientele hails from the culturally relevant players at the forefront of their respective industries.  We quite concur that this is like a members-type experience.
Normally Peachy Deegan does not eat Chinese food in New York because it truly is not easy to find excellent Chinese food in New York and it is even harder to find it with owners that speak English well that we can brag about and communicate with to you, our awesome readers!  You can be assured that the level of service in English is fantastic at Sei Less.   We began with the Shanghai Spare Ribs, which were absolutely stellar.  They are the best we've had in the State of New York in 2023.  Six arrive in style with their bone in of course and they dance in a honey glaze.
Another appetizer not to be ignored are the Lobster Spoons.
Poached lobster in "beurre blanc" butter, shallots, wine shiro-dashi and fresh chives announce to your palate that excellence is rampant in the quality of cuisine at Sei Less.
If you are into peanut sauce, you should know that their Satays are their signature dish.  Someone here doesn't like peanuts on their dinner ever...and is a peanut purist and has tastes inclined to enjoy them on a standalone basis.
Words do not do the King Crab Legs justice.  Crab Legs are towards the top of our most coveted foods ever and they like the spare ribs are practically impossible to find in Manhattan and are mostly enjoyed on the beach, which is another thing you cannot find in Manhattan.  All Sei Less needs to do now is build a beach inside their restaurant but we would not put it past them!  Steamed King Crab Legs are ALREADY CRACKED OPEN FOR YOU we have never done less work in eating them ever.  You know that this means you can wear whatever you want (and if you miss your mouth like someone here is apt to do you ought to engage our pal John-Claude Hallak!!!) The menu says they come with special garlic sauce; this is the ultimate understatement.  They luxuriate and are further embellished by garlic of the culinary Gods.
We've done this for well over 14 years and we think we are pretty clear about Peachy being a Deegan and not a Vegan.  To that end, please meet from the Land section of the menu Filet Mignon and Broccoli.  No, not beef and broccoli.  This is that but with your pinky out.  The most tender filet mignon cubes dance in brown garlic sauce and peppers and we think this is the best version of this dish we've had anywhere.  It is ridiculously delicious.  And it probably does not have carbs either if you pay attention to that....Peachy is not a doctor or dietician.
The vegetable fried rice we ordered with Pork, and you will not find better Pork Fried Rice than this one incarnation we had this one time.  Though we were impressed throughout, we are looking forward to seeing them keep this up because we have seen a lot of hits over the last decade and a half that crash and burn.  However, considering that the owner also owns the oldest restaurant in the USA, that is a beacon of hope that speaks to this more like a firework.
Salt and Pepper Jumbo Prawns are dry-fried with salt, pepper, crispy onion, scallions and crispy rice noodle found in the entree selection of the Seafood menu.  With eight choices under this area, Sei Less looks like they possess a unique hold on the Asian cuisine realm of Manhattan.
In the world according to Peachy, the right dessert is either apple pie or chocolate.
However, the Blueberry Pie was even better and this summer seasonal hit is just the right close to an unassuming venue that is easy to walk by undiscovered.  Well readers, you know it now.

We were impressed at Sei Less on our first visit and look forward to seeing them keep up the great work.
