#InauguralReview #MykonianHouse by #AlinaBorys and #GregoriPolitis #25 E 83rd St #UpperEastSide #Manhattan

Say yes please to the Lavraki!  And the Tuna Tartare:
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and there's not a lot we get more excited about than the opening of a smashing hot new restaurant, particularly in the obvious best part of town: The Upper East Side.  Just around the corner from where the Roy family fictitiously lives in SUCCESSION, Mykonian House opened on October 16, 2023 and is owned by husband and wife team Gregori Politis and Alina Borys.  This is the first time we visited and it's our first time working with them: we worked with Gregori, who was delightful.  He hails from the Greek Island of Lefkada, and yes it is authentic.
The Mediterranean diet is of course so healthy, and we opted for two salads.  In both cases, they listened and put the dressing on the side for Ms. Pretty Picky.  On top, please meet The Beet Salad.  Terrifically sliced red onions joined red beets with skordalia puree.  Below is a Greek classic: Horiatiki, with cucumbers, onions, feta, olives, oregano and olive oil.  Both salads were exactly what we were looking for and all components were fresh.
For appetizers, we were solidly impressed with the Garides Saganaki: jumbo shrimp, tomatoes and feta and the Tzatziki is always among Peachy's favorites anywhere and she rejoiced in the creamy goodness with fresh greek yogurt, cucumber, olive oil, garlic, dill and fresh lemon.
The appetizers are among the strongest components of the menu, and the Octopus is served cut up, grilled in white onions and white wine, yielding tasty results.  The Tuna Tartare was our favorite appetizer along with the Tzatziki: it's from the raw bar and the Big Eye Tuna is presented sashimi style!  It was fabulously fresh and it looks exactly like this: if you have not read our other 28,000 posts you should know we do not edit pictures.  You excel like Gregori or we do not publish.
The atmosphere is ambiant, quiet and inviting and maintains a high level of class.
We are advocates of Assyrtiko from Santorini and it paired well with our edible features.
Server Katerina Krepenioti, who also has Greek heritage with her dad from the north and her mom from the south, was a joy to work with.
From the land has three choices and we chose the Roasted Chicken.  The half bone-in chicken breast with rosemary and thyme was further invigorated with lemon and potatoes.  The real star of the show, however, was the Lavraki.  We will let the pictures speak for themselves!
Of course it comes straight from Greece, and the convincing sensation of the sea is deserving of your dinner attention in its optimal freshness, seasoned and grilled just right!

We were impressed and we look forward to seeing them keep up the excellent work!
