Nephew and Uncle!
The real star of the show at Argo continues to be the Ink Risotto with Seafood
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and this summer, we discovered Argo and they earned their first review, published here.  Open since September 2022, Argo continues to prove that they are a special little gem of Tribeca, a bit under the radar and deserving of your personal spotlight.  They boast a menu with creativity and depth, and even better they now have a liquor license.  Our congratulations to Roudolf, who became a US Citizen since our last review on August 16, 2023 and quite serendipitously received his liquor license for Argo the same day in the mail!
As avid readers know, in Connecticut when Peachy was growing up, you always automatically got a green salad as part of your meal, served before the entree came.  Consequently, we always include salad options we find most attractive in the season!
First, we opted for the Caesar salad which they put the dressing on the side for Ms. Pretty Picky.  It's available with either chicken or shrimp, and we opted for the latter.  The shrimp are laudable in both quality and quantity, and the classic baby iceberg, parmigiano, bacon and croutons are exemplary and fresh.  We also tried the burrata salad: burrata, seasonal fruits, honey, lime, olive oil, arugula, chives and baby spinach.  This is nice to have dressed as they know the right amount to put on it:
The Sea Bass with Gnocchi continues to be a winner, and the fresh aegean fish is thoughtfully marinated in a bespoke array of basil, thyme, salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar in a vacuum container, giving it a vivid, fragrant flavor that's further enhanced with the delicious pillow-like gnocchi and sauteed vegetables highlighted with a light yogurt sauce.
It's nearly wintertime, readers and you want to snuggle up with your favorite pasta dishes!  Add this one to your list: Minced meat (beef:100 percent, my friends!) bolognese sauce of course with tomatoes waltzes in spaghetti gorgeously and is elevated further with freshly shredded cheese.  It absolutely hits the spot!
The winner and still the favorite of Peachy Deegan is the Ink Risotto with Seafood!
Make sure you have one of the coveted 38 seats so this can be yours for dinner.  Octopus ink risotto is even more exclusive than a Black Amex (and of course Amex is a hop, skip and a jump down the street at 3 World Financial, where it certainly was above Lehman Brothers back in the day....) and when the seafood calls for it to be its own personal stomping ground to party for your dinner, your New York night is complete.  Octopus, sous vide bien sur, shrimp, scallops and mussels are all calling your name and how lucky you are that baby they've got your number.
Life is but a dream, so order your Argo Boat to sail away.  No sea legs necessary!  Roasted and mashed sweet potatoes with tricolor cauliflower is gloriously finished in lemon, butter and a touch of homemade vinaigrette and white asparagus.  Whoever said vegetables are not excited clearly have not met our friends at Argo!
Finally, in this season of holiday celebration especially, one is always looking for a carnivorous endeavor to really wow at dinnertime, and the Beef Rib Eye Steak at Argo rises to the occasion beautifully.  Grass fed rib eye steak from Pineland Farms with Idaho pomme vanilla puree and red wine sauce is a declaration of decadence that is exactly what you're looking for, readers, and you ought to know this is as good as the great steakhouses we review.  Bok choy also came to the dinner soiree on the plate.
Finally, we tried orange wine at their suggestion, and it's always fascinating to learn something new in this realm.  The color is from the skin during the fermentation and Vasilissa means queen.
Argo is a family affair with genuine passion behind it and care to make the guest experience sensational.
We continue to be incredibly impressed with this petite yet talented venue and if you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?  We can't wait to see what they do next.
