Pictures speak louder than words!
It's not who you know, and it never has been.
Drumroll, please!
It's WHOM YOU KNOW and now we are pleased to introduce you to Salon Owner Stephen Knoll and his talented colorist, David Crandall, each proven industry stars evidenced by the hue of every strand of hair found on Peachy's head right now.
Their biographies are found at the conclusion below.

The appointment, our first ever here, was professionally and properly started with a consultation and goals set forth: a return to Peachy's natural medium brown, with sunkissed highlights and some blonde going through it.  True to his word, expert David Crandall's talent emanated like rays from the sun with the vision in his mind successfully transpired to his brush.  And, most importantly, he both listened to Peachy and executed her golden rule: NO RED HAIR.

David's color knowledge is extensive; not only does he practice: he originates.  The product Aloxxi he helped develop: the color used on Peachy was appropriately titled: arrivederci roots.  We said au revoir to all of Peachy's prior haircolor, resulting first in a dark and rich single process.  Then a mild lightening product was used after washing post-single process which results in a striking highlight contrast of course shown above with a warm brown for January.  These controlled highlights were achieved with foil around Peachy's head: the microlighting was incredible like David who as far as we are concerned, operates like the sun!  Additionally, David color corrected and filled in by darkeing all the ends with density to reflect the light properly.   This was sealed off with a glaze. The results shown above evidence the talent and quality depth David possesses in haircolor.

David believes in keeping your hair in top condition and his visual philosophy incorporates a beautiful, romantic, professional polished look to hair looking its natural best - not overdone: just right! (...with David's help, of course says Peachy!).

While David painted Peachy's hair, we were delighted to befriend Stephen Knoll, who regaled us with his storied career, grounded in prominent editorial work which led to him opening his first salon in 1991 at 625 Madison Avenue where he was until a year ago: now he is on 62nd between 5th avenue and Madison.  His style is characterized by classic with a twist: a downtown classic!  He started doing his mother's hair as a child, and had parents entirely supportive of his talented artistic ambitions: though he is from the midwest, Stephen has always been a hair professional in New York.  He listens and has his own opinion while respecting the ideas of each individual client and their particular comfort zones and intrinsically knows what looks right.

Stephen Knoll's illustrious editorial career includes Cindy Crawford, Maria Shriver, Marisa Berenson, Reba McEntire, Queen Noor, Debra Messing, Mick Jagger, Jerry Hall and Deborah Norville.

He started his hair products in 1995, and in 2001 Stephen Knoll began speaking with Kose, the second largest cosmetic company in Japan where he travels three or four times annually to continue the product partnership.  In 2002 with Kose (lab and distributor), the Stephen Knoll line was launched at 10,000 retailers and today, it can be found at 16,000 retailers in Japan, Brazil (starting in 2006), and at Stephen's salon on East 62nd Street.  Stephen personally tests all the products at the salon for approval first, and is the face and professional behind the brand of course.
We were also pleased to meet and work with 20-year veteran of The Stephen Knoll Salon, manager Cassandra Rivera, above, who is also a stylist and Stephen's in-salon assistant: she beautifully blew-dry and roller-set our hair to perfection.
In addition to premium shampoo (we like Purifying Shampoo Smooth Mellow which moisturizes unruly hair) and conditioner (we like Daily Renew Mask Natural Finish), this professional line has a fabulous:
Concentrated Hair Serum for naturally curly hair (one press on wet hair on the ends)
Ultra Shine Treatment Oil (same, one press and thinner than the serum)
Style Memory Lotion all-in-1 styling spray for control and style: protects from heat, heat activated and reactivates the next day (15 spritzes)
Rehydrating Serum Mist (leave in conditioner)
Extra Hard Hairspray (control, not crunchy)
Smooth Finishing Treatment (tiny drop for flyaways!)
...and we loved it all and are still using it post-salon!
