Go for the Gold Equivalent in your stomach: Lobster Salad!
And do not miss the spectacular Grilled Kalamari:
The hottest spot in town, Ammos Estiatorio has the hits to ignite your appetite and the Olympic flame in your stomach for New York's Restaurant Week going on right now, through August 18, 2024. Led by founder, owner and entrepreneurial superstar Dimitris Nakos, Athens native, Ammos Estiatorio is truly authentically Greek and there's no better place in New York to celebrate the Olympics which of course originated in Greece. If you wish to view the Olympics privately, Ammos has three private rooms that are ideal for viewing and of course phenomenal cuisine to pair with the soiree,
The special three course menu is one and the same for both lunch and dinner: one appetizer, one, entree, and one dessert.
There's nothing more refreshing than the Lobster Yogurt Salad!  Peachy's personal favorite appetizer off this menu features steamed whole lobster pieces creatively mixed with Greek yogurt, cilantro, and lime juice.  Its flavor is further enhanced with sea salt and ground pepper, and it all luxuriates on lovely avocado puree.  Go for the gold in your stomach!
Kalamari is wonderful both ways: fried, above and grilled, below.  A highly enticing lemon caper aioli is in the silver boat ready for your fried Kalamari to do the high dive into it!  Have fun with your food, especially because it's summer fun and celebratory for the Olympics!  Uniquely emblazoned with the Ammos Estiatorio signature Ladolemono sauce, the grilled Kalamari is the nutritional angel on your shoulder in contrast to the other!  Both are winners in their own right and will entice you respectively, depending on your mood.
Psari Imeras in Greek is Fresh Catch of the Day!  It's triumphantly topped with a caperberry.  The day we visited, it was a gorgeous broiled filet of Mediterranean Sole served upon beautifully sauteed zucchini and wild mushroom with added balsamic vinegar drizzle with yellow bell pepper.  Ammos is known for their seafood prowess so this is a fabulous way to go.  You also will adore the Makaronia Manitaria: Linguini pasta sauteed with evoo, shiitake and cremini mushrooms, garlic, onions, fresh lemon juice, parsley, and finished with the elegance of Santorini wine.  It's further enhanced with sea salt, ground pepper and crushed red pepper flakes.
To Peachy, the correct dessert answer in a Manhattan summer is ALWAYS ice cream.
Peachy is a fan of the classics as you know, so strawberry screamed her name and we highly recommend you also be in the pink.  For something authentically Greek, opt for the Yiaourti Krema: Chilled Greek Yogurt infused with seasonal berries, served with Greek honey and sour cherries: it's a surefire delight.
Restaurant Week at Ammos cannot be beat!
Ammos Estiatorio continues to earn our Highest Recommendation.
