You must get the Salmon Toast, Peachy's Favorite
Founder and Owner of The Tipsy Grape, Alexander Golant
In over fifteen years, only three places ever have earned a single feature in Terrific Takeout Brooklyn, and there's yet to be one that has earned a double feature.  Actions speak louder than words, readers.
The Tipsy Grape originated in March 24, 2023 and it's the creation of newcomer to the industry Alexander Golant, one smart cookie.  He's a Brookyn native with heritage from Belarus.  A commercial real estate attorney by trade, Alex has shown us he is multi-talented and The Tipsy Grape impressed us on our first stop by.  It seats 70 and one of those seats should be yours.
Everyone knows it takes A LOT to get Peachy to go to an outer borough, but Paul McCartney at the Brooklyn Museum was a good reason.
We began with the Georgian Salad, above.
Tomatoes, cucumbers and red onion, all well cut, were highlighted by a creative Walnut Sauce which lent a lovely texture.
There are six boards to choose from, and meet the Vegan Board below.
Hemant, Jorge, and Christophe, we are talking to you.
Everyone knows that Peachy is not a vegan, she is a DEEGAN but other people eat vegan!
Starting at 12 o clock going clockwise:
Hummus, Jonjoli (pickled flowers, first time we ever had this), Walnuts, Walnut Sauce, Mango with Chili Flakes and Green Olives perfectly punctuate the fresh pita.  Of course we loved the raw vegetables in the center.  See, eating at a wine bar can be healthy if you order that way.
Even better was the Sea Board, above.
2x Smoked Salmon Canape and 2x Pickled Herring Canape starred in the front line.
All elements of everything we had at The Tipsy Grape were fresh.
Velvet Tuna Mousse, Chopped Salmon and Capers, Green Olives, Marinated Onions and Lime and Cream Cheese are ready to jump on Toasted Rye.  PEACHY LOVES RYE and never can find it on menus but would like to see it more.
Chicken Liver Pate Canape is a pretty number, and the Bordeaux Cherries are a nice touch with the Arugula and Cherry tomatoes.
Salmon Toast was the winner on Peachy's Palate and it tastes as attractive as it looks.  Red Onion, Cream Cheese, Dill, Capers and Cherry Tomatoes party on Ciabatta Bread from Bien Cuit.  The ratios of the ingredients to each other and the delicious combination hit the spot.  You should never have a glass of wine at The Tipsy Grape without the Salmon Toast.
If you are feeling adventurous, Khinkali, Dumplings of a combination of beef and pork are for you and you should carefully eat them because there is also a soup like liquid inside.  Of Georgian origin (the country not the state), they would be even better a cold day and it really is saying something when we try something new that we haven't eaten in the first 29,000 posts. Put your fork in the stem to eat them!  Alex will show you.  There's a pronounced Georgian influence on the menu along with elements of Italy.
If you are hungry go for the star of the show, Bucatini alla Pesto di Gamberi.
We believe it's universally appealing and here's where the Italian influence weighs in.  It's not too heavy of a pasta for summer and the shrimp, pesto and parmesan is light and refreshing and outstandingly delicious.
Finally, obviously get some wine because it IS a wine bar!
Say "Nazdarovya" to Alex because that means Cheers, to good health in Belarus; we particuarly liked this biodynamically (few chemicals and pesticides) produced Bordeaux.
The Tipsy Grape is Recommended by Whom You Know and we look forward to seeing what they do next.
