Buffalo to finish training camp in Munich, play EHC Red Bull München on Sept. 27 in 2024 NHL Global Series Challenge Germany; Buffalo and New Jersey to open 2024-25 NHL Regular Season on Oct. 4-5 in Prague, Czechia

The Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils are set to face off in the 2024 NHL Global Series™ Czechia presented by Fastenal in Prague, the first games of the 2024-25 regular season, at O2 Arena on Friday, Oct. 4 (1 p.m. EDT, MSG, MSG-B, NHL Network) and Saturday, Oct. 5 (10 a.m. EDT, MSG, MSG-B, NHL Network).

The local start times for the games in Prague will be 7 p.m. on Friday (Nova Action Czechia, Sky Germany, Viaplay Finland, Viaplay Norway, MySports Switzerland, Premier UK, Arena Sport) and 4 p.m. on Saturday (Nova TV & NovaSport1 Czechia, Sky Germany, MTV Finland, Viaplay Finland, Viaplay Norway, Premier UK, Arena Sport).

Prior to the season-opening matchups, the Sabres will conclude their training camp in Munich, Germany with an exhibition game in the 2024 NHL Global Series Challenge™ Germany, presented by Fastenal. Buffalo will play EHC Red Bull München (Munich Red Bulls Ice Hockey Club) on Friday, Sept. 27 at 2:30 p.m. EDT at the newly-opened SAP Garden Arena (NHL Network, Sky Germany, NovaSport1 Czechia, Viaplay Finland, Viaplay Norway, Premier UK, Arena Sport). The local start time will be 8:30 p.m.

The 2024 NHL Global Series™ presented by Fastenal will mark the 11th season the NHL has traveled to Europe to play regular-season games. The Sabres-Devils matchups on Oct. 4 and Oct. 5 will be the 43rd and 44th NHL regular season games played in Europe and the eighth and ninth such games played in Prague. These games reward the legion of loyal and passionate international fans by featuring some of the NHL’s biggest stars and generating interest in the League worldwide. The games in Munich and Prague will feature some of the NHL’s top talent from across the world. The Sabres’ roster includes forward and Munich native JJ Peterka, goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (Finland) and defenseman Rasmus Dahlin (Sweden). The Devils counter with captain Nico Hischier (Switzerland) and forward Jack Hughes (USA). New Jersey’s veteran forward Ondrej Palat is primed to open the season in his native Czechia, and forward Timo Meier (Switzerland) will return to O2 Arena for Global Series games, after participating in Prague with the San Jose Sharks in 2022.

In addition to the Sabres-Devils contests in Prague, the 2024 NHL Global Series presented by Fastenal will also visit Tampere, Finland, where the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars will face off in pair of regular-season games on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 at Nokia Arena.
