#PeachysPicks #WhomYouKnow #CandleCafe by #JorgePineda Is the Newest Peachy's Pick! #388ThirdAvenue #Manhattan #Vegan from #Scratch
You are going to love Candle Cafe and Vegan food when you go here!
Jorge Pineda is one-of-a-kind: he's the first to get Peachy to like vegan food ever, and he's the first vegan restaurant to advance to Peachy's Picks in our history! The third time's a charm!
Candle Cafe, the brainchild of Jorge, was first lauded early in January 2024, and mid-year they came out with new hits. We began this visit with Chimichurri Skewers, fragrant and fall-forward! We particularly liked the grilled tomato accent and the char-grilled setan with chipotle aioli is colorful and flavorful. Below, the side of Seitan Wheatballs introduced a new way to enjoy something that is similar to meatballs. The tomato basil truffle sauce on this is understated and a side deserving of your attention.
Of course, our personal belief is if you are going to go vegan, you should go straight to the vegetables themselves. Peachy is an advocate of onion, and the caramelized onions standalone side and also the beets both celebrate simplicity at its best done so well by Candle Cafe. Vegan food doesn't need to be processed or overcomplicated to be delicious!
Following on the theme of eating vegetables straight, we applaud the salads at Candle Cafe! Kale Caesar Salad continues to impress us in all its glory. It's absolutely competitive with regular caesar salad in terms of taste, especially the dressing, which in itself is a miracle. Kale, oven-dried tomatoes, cashew parmesan, polenta croutons and fried capers await your presence.
Brussel sprouts salad is another festive celebration with wild mushrooms, spinach, dried cranberries, leeks, almonds and fabulous horseradish dressing. Jorge's unique flavors that go well together really will wow you.
Have you ever had Parmesan Crispy Artichokes?
Well, Carpe Diem!!!
Seize the day and then your fork and befriend the chickpeas, red peppers, capers, leeks, zucchini , garlic truffle aioli and tomato sauce that surround the wonderfully crispy artichokes that are a total celebration.
And just right for fall is Peachy's favorite edible this visit: Butternut Squash Risotto. Risotto has impressed us at Candle Cafe before! This had outstanding consistency, and wild mushroom, leeks, roasted cauliflower, cashew cream, parmesan cheese and truffle oil amp up this autumn pleaser made even better with pomegranates.
Cauliflower continues to prove its versatility with the Za'atar Roasted Cauliflower! (Did you see the Za'atar Cragel earlier?) Chickpeas, oven-dried tomatoes, grilled red peppers, kale, zucchini, kale-pine nut pesto and tahini sauce make this a fall festival on your plate.
And pizza lovers, you've got to say enchante to the Cauliflower Crust Pizza! Tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms, caramelized onions, arugula, truffle oil and balsamic reduction make pizza healthy again.
Organic hot coffee and crumble with outstanding berries seal the deal!
