Owner and Founder Sammy Musovic Celebrates Twenty Years of Excellence at Sojourn
Befriend the Sliders and Slide into 2025 on a High Note!
Sojourn was first featured as a Peachy's Pick in 2011 when we first met owner Sammy Musovic, and it was later featured in 2017. We're thrilled to close out 2024 with a smashing return feature, and Sammy also owns a second restaurant, Sojourn Social which was featured in an inaugural review in 2022 and we ought to go back.  We began with a nutritious extravaganza: Sauteed Broccoli, above, and Grilled Romaine Caesar, below.
We are huge advocates of green vegetables as side dishes, and Sojourn steps it up with garlic, parmesan and shallots, yielding superior flavor.
Lots of people have great caesar salads, but few have them grilled which is innovative and especially nice in December.  Roasted carrots, which are a welcome guest to the caesar salad, join radishes and croutons successfully.
Note that we do not edit pictures; the food looks exactly like this.
The next to step out were the Manchego and Chorizo Croquettes in a great presentation with red pepper emulsion.
More importantly, they are delicious!  We love love love manchego and if we saw it more often we might be tempted to start a column on it like we have for burrata.
We've had the Scallion Fried Rice before and are pleased to tell you it's exactly as fantastic as we remember.  It's very difficult to find great fried rice in New York and we are especially looking for great pork fried rice in general.  Sammy's rendition here is embellished with garlic, ginger and soy and for someone who says she is not a fan of soy, she is a fan of THIS SOY.
You absolutely have to have the decadent pillowy Gnocchi Quattro Formaggi and those four cheeses are: Parmesan, Ricotta, Gouda and Gorgonzola.  The luxurious creaminess is superior in texture and flavor and is competitive with the best gnocchis we have had by Italians.
Peachy is a Deegan, not a vegan, and she is always dying for a fabulous cheeseburger.  The sliders at Sojourn are truly amazing, composed of delicious Kobe Beef that was also correctly medium rare, as ordered, shown below.
Wisconsin Cheddar scores a hat trick in your stomach that certainly Badger Bob would be proud of, the caramelized onions step up the flavor and the ginger ketchup is a nice unique touch.
If you are not a meat connoisseur and prefer the lighter side, a hearty option for the dead of winter that surely awaits us is the Organic Boneless Half Chicken. It's moist and inviting, and joined by crispy potatoes and rosemary white wine juice that lends an elevated classic flavor.
Also note that the music is great here and included Reunited which always reminds us of the living music and restaurant legend Paul J. Cohn, our pal in Washington D.C./Maryland and Frankie Valli.  Servers Robert Ejlli and Ashley Charney also winningly served us with gracious professional enthusiasm.
Finally, the Roasted Salmon is an amazing selection for all the pescatarians out there and it radiates elegance: the combination with the Crimini Mushrooms, Brussel Sprout Leaves and Truffle Oil really makes it shine and show you that Sojourn is a step above in flavor and quality.
Peachy continues to pick Sojourn by Sammy Musovic, and it is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
